Somfy Participations

Somfy Participations is Somfy Group's Investment branch.

Somfy Participations, created in January 2008, invests in companies undergoing change or transition (development, internationalization, transmission etc.) whose projects require the involvement of long-term shareholders.

Somfy Participations is therefore:

- eager to support these companies' management teams as an active shareholder, given the corporate profile of its own managers,

- free to decide how long its involvement will last, as it is not an investment fund with a predefined timeframe.

Somfy Participations invests either in equity, using the proceeds from portfolio asset disposal, or resources which are not reinvested in Somfy Group's core business, or through recourse to acquisition debt with a reasonable leverage ratio.

Net asset value at 31 December 2010 was €437 million. The sale of its shares in agta record for €109 million in January 2011 generated a capital gain of €64 million.

Responsibility

Awareness-raising led naturally by Somfy

For Somfy, with its long-standing track record in the field, environmental action is both legitimate and necessary. Originating in the Alps, the Group has for the past 15 years been supporting activities to protect the natural environment, particularly in the mountains.

In 2007, Somfy decided to refocus the actions of its Foundation on housing, in order to support its policy of innovation through its business activities.
