Somfy Participations invests in companies where it understands their development projects (e.g. products, external growth, internationalization) and business sector.

Somfy Participations prefers the following types of investment:

  • LBO mid-caps
  • development capital minority mid caps
  • capital transmission mid-caps

Amounts invested in an operation generally fall within the €15-100 million bracket. Somfy Participations also co-invests with other private equity players whose philosophy it shares.

As a shareholder committed to the development and performance of the companies it invests in, Somfy Participations' ambition, beyond the financial aspect, is also to help their management teams move forward, and to back them in their strategic projects.

 

As managers and directors, Somfy Participations' team members have all experienced situations where companies have recorded strong growth or undergone deep-rooted change. This experience has given them the ability to stand back and listen, which is essential if they are to accompany these companies' management teams in the key moments of their development.

Beyond the processes of monitoring the companies invested in (regular reporting, quarterly status review of strategic projects, etc.), it is this sharing of experience which brings a real meaning to the relationship between shareholder and senior management team. In the same spirit, the companies may also, should they so wish, benefit from the know-how of Somfy Group's corporate and operational functions.
